Katrin Sievert joined ETH’s Climate Finance and Policy Group as a PhD student under the external pageEU Horizons 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curiecall_made Grant Agreement in November 2021. She is working on an ISTP project and focuses her research on the investment and financing needs along the CCS/CCU value chain and the evaluation of suitable financing sources.
Katrin holds a Master’s degree in Management & Technology from external pageTU Munichcall_made (Germany) with a focus on energy markets and energy technology. She wrote her master thesis in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University’s department of external pageEngineering and Public Policycall_made, analyzing and quantifying the additionality of corporate investments in renewable energy in China.
During her master studies, Katrin completed the interdisciplinary postgraduate program "Technology Management" at the external pageCenter for Digital Technology Management (CDTM)call_made, which is part of the external pageElite Network of Bavariacall_made.
Katrin gained further professional experience in sustainability consulting with a focus on the circular economy in the automotive industry at external pageSystemiqcall_made, in the energy practice of the strategy consultancy external pageBCGcall_made, and in supply chain management at external pageBarkawi Management Consultantscall_made, among others.
Katrin is passionate about sports, from outdoor adventures such as hiking, to several ASVZ courses she would like to try, to fencing, which she did for 10 years.
